"I first came to know the Institute on the Environment while I was a doctoral student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I was fortunate to regularly attend workshops as part of the Boreas Leadership Program. These workshops and seminars were vital to my success as a graduate student - I learned everything from presentation skills to team-based learning strategies to crafting my elevator pitch. As a new professor, I'm continually drawing on these leadership skills in the classroom, my research, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students."
